Day 302 Intention ~ Calm Down

Day 302 Intention ~ Calm Down

Mercury is in retrograde. Take a deep breath.

Things have not really gone as planned today. I had a surprise day off. It started out well, I walked the dog, made some muffins, even watched a scary movie that I love.

Then, the laziness set in. Then the guilt. Then the stress. Lately I've been thinking that I need to get a new (or another) job. Being broke all the time is getting to me & the guilt of my husband covering for me all the time is really getting to me.

As I start to get in that panic mode of "what am I going to do?!?", I look over to my good ol' African proverbs calendar.
Today it reads, "Worrying is like a rocking chair; it swings you back and forth and takes you nowhere." It's a Kenyan proverb. It's true.

Panic mode & stress mode & guilt mode really do get you nowhere. It takes action. So, now I just need to calm down and figure out a plan. (But, remember, sign no papers until after Mercury is out of retrograde~I believe around November 10th!)

Til tomorrow...

Day 197 Intention ~ Don't Get Discouraged

Day 197 Intention ~ Don't Get Discouraged

Mercury is still in retrograde til the 20th. They always say it's not a good time to make deals or purchase electronics during this period, so trying to keep that in mind.

This morning I was looking to start a new season of classes outside and well, let's just say it didn't go off as planned!
BUT, that being said, I will not get discouraged. It's so hot outside this week and I know some of my "regulars" are currently out of town or at work. They will come as the season goes on.

Anything you do, if it's something you really want, keep at it! Keep trying. There will always be ups and downs, but that is how we learn.

Keep your chin up, only a few more days of this Mercury retrograde my friends.

Til tomorrow...

Day 189 Intention ~ Get Creative...

Day 189 Intention ~ Get Creative...

And I mean that with work and play! After a nice break, you may have noticed a little frazzled tone in my posts pre-vacation last week, I am now ready to conquer the world!! Ha ha ha, okay, just get a little more creative with my yoga teaching and writing & my play time (generally I mean with George.)

It's summer, classes tend to slow down and dogs like to have a more adventurous time in the great outdoors. Feeling more inspired, I have a bunch of motivation and new ideas for my business and pleasure. Of course, this being Monday and having the last 5 days off, I suppose it's going to be about business today for me, but that is okay too. One great thing about planning fun yogic things and writing is that I can brainstorm and plan outside in the beautiful weather.

Mercury is retrograde and yes, I have felt its effects somewhat, but even with that stress going on monetarily and emotionally (and you know not to make big purchases of electronics or sign any contracts during Mercury retrograde, right??), I feel good and positive! This is going to be a great summer & year ahead!

So, if you are local to me, stay tuned for some great exciting new things coming up very very soon!

Til tomorrow...

Shanti,

Marcia

Day 182 Intention ~ See The Bright Side

Day 182 Intention ~ See The Bright Side

Monday, Monday...sure it's cliche. But, man oh man, what a day so far. One of those days when things are just annoying and more difficult than those easy breezy days of Jupiter. I did see a friend post something about Mercury being retrograde.

It started when I couldn't sleep last night...that usually starts it. Then my drive through the University Circle construction zone was a mess. And even though I kept asking myself, "Why are you letting this bug you?", I still felt crabby about it. Even when the radio played an old Aerosmith tune that I love and then right into The Stones. Surely it was the universe trying to tell me to just enjoy the ride with a side of some classic rock that I love.

Things started to look up.

When I went home, I felt productivity take over me. Then, I tried to walk my beloved George. Now George is a powerful beast when he wants to get to something or to another dog. As we are walking, he takes care of his business. I bend down to pick it up and see a guy with a dog across the street. George starts to get excited and starts to drag me a bit. I try to stop him. Granted, I should have stood up at this point, but I thought he would stop. What the heck was I thinking?!?!?!

Next thing I know, I have been dragged through what I was trying to pick up and I'm still wondering if George may have pulled my already screwy shoulder out of its socket. Ugh. The guy then says, "He just wants to play." Arghhhh.

Needless to say, this is in the top 5 grossest and worst walk experiences George and I have ever had. As I moped all the way home, determined to be annoyed, George settled in next to me and gave me his unconditional love. And, I still wouldn't trade that love beast for any other dog in the world.

So, there are worse things that could have happened. Sure, I'm a little embarrassed and my shoulder is a little, okay, very sore, but we are okay. And life is still good, Mercury retrograde Monday or not.

Til tomorrow...

Marcia
