Day 283 Intention ~ Enjoy This Day

Saw this on Facebook this morning from the Yogi Times page and thought that that sounded like a good idea. I think that most of us intend on doing that each day, but then get sucked into our work lives, our family concerns, financial or emotional issues...life, the ego. 

Learning to accept each moment as it is without judgement, without attaching to it because it really is just a moment, is one way to truly enjoy each moment...enjoy the day. 

Of course the pressures of the modern world can sidetrack us, but if you can find at least one moment to stop, take a breath, and be present right then, you may find that things aren't that bad.

Day 173 Intention ~ Celebrate Life!

Today is one of those days where I had plans from a.m. through p.m. (Just making a quick pit stop to get this out.)
I won't lie, although each individual thing sounded fun, all in one day, to me, sounded like too much! I was kind of dreading it, but about to head to my last stop, today has been a barrel of fun! So, I am celebrating each moment & life!

Day 99 Intention ~ Enjoy the Quiet

Day 99 Intention ~ Enjoy the Quiet

Even if it is only for a moment...and perhaps not all that quiet. Sure, I can hear the birds or cars passing by outside, the hum of the computer's hard drive, but just for a few moments it seems so peaceful. 

No music blasting or television blaring. No one talking in my ear...just "quiet". As yogis, we are supposed to be able to find stillness in any situation. Although, sometimes this is possible, it's just more clearing & calming for me (and I am sure others) when it's a little bit quieter around me. I can focus on the breathe, my mind can relax a little more and I feel more peaceful. Sure, I strive to find calmness in any crazy situation going on, but I guess I'm not that enlightened yet...maybe someday! 

But, if we find these little moments of stillness or quiet each day, even if it's just a short moment to start, it can make the rest of our day a little bit more calm. Eventually those moments of quiet become longer and perhaps even stretch into those other less quiet moments.

Day 27 Intention ~ Embrace All That Comes My Way


Day 27 Intention ~ Embrace all that comes my way.

Sunday. I love Sundays. Even though I usually have work to do, I don't usually teach any classes. Today I subbed a short 45 minute class. It was fun. It actually got me to motivate a little more than usual on a Sunday (the 45 minutes of spinning before the 45 minutes of yoga didn't hurt either). I came home walked the dog, connected with friends on Facebook, relaxed on the couch and watched a dvd, snuggled with my dog and laughed with my husband. Now, I am going to work on my writing assignments a bit, then make dinner and call my parents. It could sound too busy for a Sunday, but it's all been in a nice relaxed effort (well, except the spinning). 

Today has offered all sorts of enjoyable moments already with more to come. The reality of it is that with my work schedule, most days could be led this way. Just enjoyable & relaxed, embracing each moment in this great life. There is something about that Sunday feeling though that gives it a special feeling. So, my intention not only for today, but for all days is to embrace each moment, enjoy it, soak it in and I imagine my heart will be filled with joy and love...care to join me?
